Councillor Delon is a traditional knowledge practitioner, cultural heritage educator, and environmental steward with extensive experience in Maroon cultural traditions, food systems, and community-based heritage preservation.

Drawing upon years of practical experience within the Maroon community, Councillor Delon is a former member of the Charles Town Maroon Council, where he organized cultural immersion programmes and educational experiences, helping visitors gain a deeper appreciation of Maroon heritage, ecological knowledge, and cultural resilience, connecting people with Maroon history, identity, and ways of life. His expertise includes the preparation of traditional foods, the use of ancestral food systems, sustainable fishing practices, and the interpretation of cultural heritage for local and international audiences.

In addition to his work as a cultural practitioner, Councillor Delon has received specialized training in digital heritage preservation through the EU-LAC Museums Programme, earning certification in 3D scanning and digital documentation techniques that support the safeguarding of cultural artifacts and heritage resources.

A licensed Game Warden under the Wildlife Protection Act, Councillor Delon is also committed to environmental stewardship and the protection of natural resources. His work reflects a holistic understanding of the relationship between culture, land, food, and community, combining traditional knowledge with contemporary approaches to heritage conservation and environmental management.

As a community leader, his approach to community leadership is grounded in the belief that culture, spirituality, food, and the environment are deeply interconnected. Through his work as a minister of religion, cultural practitioner, and environmental steward, he helps to preserve and transmit the knowledge, traditions, and values that sustain our community. His work with traditional food systems promotes food security, environmental sustainability, and the preservation of ancestral knowledge concerning the responsible use of natural resources.

Whether through traditional music and dance, the preparation of ancestral foods, cultural immersion programmes, environmental protection, or spiritual guidance, his goal is to strengthen community identity, support cultural continuity, and ensure that future generations inherit both the knowledge and natural resources necessary to thrive. He views leadership not only as service to people, but also as stewardship of the cultural heritage, traditions, and ecosystems that define who we are as a community.
