Priest Alex Moore-Minott, Bsc
Priest Alex is a religious and community leader, tribal diplomat, and international relations professional whose work focuses on cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, and Indigenous self-determination. Holding an Honours degree in International Relations, he has combined academic training with practical leadership in community governance, cultural diplomacy, and international engagement.
As the leader of a recognized Maroon religious institution, the West Indian Tribal Society he has worked to strengthen relationships between Maroon communities, Indigenous peoples, and traditional communities across the world. Under his leadership, the institution has expanded its international engagement and was successfully granted ad hoc observer status to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC), enabling participation in global discussions concerning the protection of traditional knowledge and traditional cultural expressions.
Priest Alex has previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy within the Maroon Tribal Government for the Accompong Maroons, where he represented community interests, fostered strategic partnerships, and advanced initiatives in cultural diplomacy and international cooperation. His work has emphasized the role of culture, spirituality, and traditional knowledge as foundations for sustainable development and meaningful international engagement.
In his capacity as a traditional religious minister, Priest Alex provides spiritual leadership while advocating for the preservation and transmission of ancestral knowledge systems. His work bridges Indigenous governance, diplomacy, spirituality, and international policy, contributing to greater recognition of traditional communities and their cultural heritage within both regional and global forums.
His approach to diplomacy is grounded in the belief that lasting relationships are built not only through political engagement but also through shared cultural experiences and respect for heritage. Through cultural outreach, educational initiatives, and international engagement, he helped elevate the visibility of Indigenous traditions while promoting dialogue, cooperation, and intercultural understanding.
Today, he continues this commitment through his work as a traditional priest, focusing on spiritual justice—the restoration of balance among people, communities, ancestors, and the natural world. Drawing upon ancestral teachings and sacred traditions, he provides spiritual guidance, community leadership, and cultural advocacy while working to advance dignity, healing, and collective wellbeing. His life's work reflects a dedication to building bridges, strengthening communities, and ensuring that ancestral wisdom remains a living force for justice and renewal in the contemporary world.
